These days, life coaches are a dime a dozen and everyone thinks they know how to do everything on their own.

You feel like you have to juggle a million things every day for your home, your career, and your personal life on your own.

You feel like you can’t trust anyone to help you carry all that stuff you have to balance, because you’ve been screwed over by people before. People claiming that they can help you, when really they just want a chance to empty your pockets.

You’re ON all the time, trying to navigate all the unreal pressures life throws at you on your own, and it is exhausting.

Have you ever thought that there has to be another way?

Well, I’m here to tell you that there is.

Partnership.

I remember when I first worked my way up the ladder. I had so much on my plate. I had to take care of my kids, spend time with my husband, and be a present friend. I felt like I was drowning in all my responsibilities.

And I thought I had to go it alone.

But I didn’t.

I thought that the only way to get everything done was to power through it on my own. I was strong and competent, and I wasn’t used to asking for help. But then, the pressure became overwhelming, and I knew something had to change.

I began to open myself up to others, and my life changed.

The first person I opened myself up to was my husband. I told him about how overwhelming my everyday life had become, and let him in on all the different pressures I had to respond to, each and every day.

And let me tell ya, after taking that leap of faith into vulnerability with my husband, things began to change for the better. We were able to come up with  systems and solutions. When I needed to take a call, I had him keep an eye on the kiddos. When I got done, we would all hang out.

When I started to open up to my husband, it wasn’t just my productivity that improved, my entire mood and disposition changed. Because I opened up to my husband, not only was I able to finish enough tasks to have time for family movie night, but I was actually present and enjoyed myself, instead of worrying the whole time.

I was blown away by how amazing my life had become after I started being more open with my husband, so I began to incorporate this openness and willingness into partnering with others in all aspects of my life — not just the personal ones. Once I began to incorporate partnership into my business life, things started really picking up. In the best possible way.

I started sharing with other busy entrepreneurs about my joys and my trials (and believe me, there were lots of joys and lots of trials.) As I did this, I began to hear what other women had gone through, and how they mustered up the strength, the courage, and the drive to get through it and get stronger because of it.

I grew my skills and expertise as I drew from their wisdom and power.
I grew in strength because of their strength.

And I had to stay teachable.

Sometimes the lessons I had to learn were tough love, but the tough love was totally worth it. Yeah it hurt, and I had to shake it off, but some of the times of greatest growth in my life came when I opened up to the people who I trusted enough to call me out on my bullshit, (and then pour me a glass of wine).

But partnership isn’t a one way street! I opened myself up to my husband, my friends and my fellow business women, and I grew in strength because of it. But I kept up my end of the deal too.

When times got tough, they knew who to lean on. They knew who they could call for help. And I want to be someone who you can lean on too.

So take a second and ask yourself, do you carry too much on your own?

Do you have the weight of the world on your shoulders?

Are you willing to open yourself up, to partner, to be a rock for someone else?

You might think you have to go it alone, but you don’t. I’m here, along with your family, your friends, and your community.

In July, I’ll be practicing partnership on the I Am the Trending Topic Cruise. This is an amazing opportunity to open yourself up to partnership with other women trying to better themselves every single day, and to dive deep into an empowering community.
